CREDICORP Launches C.L.I.C.K.D.: Affordable Laptops Transform Digital Dreams into Reality
Abuja, Nigeria β July 22, 2026β In a significant step toward digital inclusion, the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, officially launched the C.L.I.C.K.D. Programme (Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices) on July 21, 2026, at the Afreximbank African Trade Centre in Abuja.
The launch event buzzed with optimism as confetti fell and the first beneficiaries received locally assembled laptops, marking the start of a nationwide rollout designed to equip Nigeriansβparticularly those building digital skillsβwith the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
Tackling a Critical Barrier to Opportunity
Many aspiring professionals and students in Nigeriaβs growing digital economy face a common hurdle: access to reliable laptops and connectivity.
The C.L.I.C.K.D. Programme directly addresses this by offering consumer credit solutions for digital devices, making them affordable through structured financing rather than prohibitive upfront costs.
The inaugural phase prioritizes fellows on the Learn2Earn platform, who are acquiring in-demand skills but often lack the hardware to complete training or capitalize on employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
In collaboration with Fidelity Bank Plc, NaseniHub, and Imose Mobile, the programme will distribute 1,000 locally assembled laptops to eligible fellows across the country.
At the Abuja launch, 77 beneficiaries received their devices, symbolizing the beginning of broader access that supports local manufacturing while advancing technology adoption.
A Broader Vision for Economic Inclusion
CREDICORP, a Federal Government Development Finance Institution established to democratize consumer credit, operates through three key pillars: providing capital and guarantees to partner financial institutions, strengthening national credit infrastructure, and shifting cultural attitudes toward responsible borrowing. Its ambitious mandate aims to extend credit access to 50% of Nigeriaβs working population by 2030.
This latest initiative builds on CREDICORPβs prior successes, including digital device financing schemes, YouthCred for young Nigerians, solar and CNG mobility programmes, and substantial disbursements exceeding tens of billions of naira to hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries.
By backing locally assembled devices, C.L.I.C.K.D. not only promotes digital inclusion but also bolsters Nigeriaβs tech manufacturing ecosystem, creating a virtuous cycle of skills development, employment, and economic growth.
Uzoma Nwagba, Managing Director/CEO of CREDICORP, and other leaders emphasized the programmeβs role in turning credit into a tool for tangible progress. Attendees, including government officials and partners, celebrated the event as a milestone in Nigeriaβs digital transformation journey.

By removing financial barriers to technology, C.L.I.C.K.D. promises to unlock potential for countless individuals and accelerate the nationβs broader development goals.
