Lagos, Nigeriaβ€”October 27, 2026β€”The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has appointed two former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders as campaign directors in a move aimed at boosting its structures for the 2027 general elections.

Former Vice Chairman of the PDP in the Southwest, Dr Eddy Olafeso, and former Chairman of the party in Ondo State, Chief Clement Faboyede, were named to strategic positions.

The party also appointed a former Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State and Chief Executive Officer of Platinum Television, Hon. Mayorkun Akinmoladun, as a director in the campaign directorate.

Key Appointments and Roles

Olafeso, a former commissioner for Information, will serve as the Director General of the APM Southwest Campaign Council. Faboyede was appointed as the Director General of the Ondo State Campaign Council, while Akinmoladun takes charge as Director General of Media and Publicity for the APM Presidential Campaign Council in Ondo State.

The appointments are designed to strengthen the party’s grassroots mobilization, political communication, and electoral coordination ahead of the presidential, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly elections.

Profiles and Expectations

Olafeso brings years of experience in party administration, political organization, and governance. His background is expected to enhance the APM’s campaign activities across the Southwest geopolitical zone.

Faboyede’s deep knowledge of Ondo State’s political landscape and experience in managing party affairs are seen as assets for coordinating campaigns across the state’s 18 local government areas.

Akinmoladun, with his combination of political experience, media expertise, and communication skills, is expected to project the party’s vision, coordinate publicity, and ensure campaign messages effectively reach voters.

His leadership of Platinum Television is viewed as an added advantage for media management and public engagement.

The appointments form part of the APM’s broader preparations as it positions itself as an alternative platform for the 2027 elections under its β€œReset Nigeria” agenda, with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde as its presidential candidate.
