Abuja/Bangkokβ€”October 14, 2026β€”The Federal Government has launched *Projects Nigeria*, a major investment pipeline of 65 bankable projects requiring a total of US$78.5 billion in capital, as it intensifies efforts to attract private and foreign investment into critical sectors of the economy.

The initiative was unveiled by the Federal Ministry of Finance during Nigeria’s engagements at the 2026 International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand.

The online platform, accessible at finance.gov.ng/projectsnigeria, provides detailed information on the projects, capital requirements, deal structures, sponsors, and bankability assessments.

Scale and Scope of the Pipeline

According to official figures, the 65 projects span five priority sectors and are expected to generate an estimated 366,763 jobs.

Oil, gas and power account for the largest share with 25 projects valued at about US$36.4 billion. Transport and maritime follow with eight projects requiring roughly US$25 billion, while industry, manufacturing, and mining feature 17 projects.

Agriculture and agro-processing account for six projects, and technology, health, and urban services make up the remaining nine.

The opportunities range widely in sizeβ€”from projects needing about US$1 million to mega-developments requiring as much as US$15 billion.

Seventeen of the projects are valued at US$1 billion or more and together account for the bulk of the total capital requirement.

Notable examples highlighted include Project Reliaxx, a crude oil evacuation and midstream infrastructure initiative requiring US$1.7 billion, and the Lagos Greenline Railway with a capital need of US$1.29 billion.

Investment Case and Reform Backdrop

The Ministry of Finance presents the pipeline against the backdrop of improving macroeconomic indicators, including stronger GDP growth, declining inflation, rising external reserves, and currency stability.

Nigeria has also received credit rating upgrades from all three major agencies in recent months, regained FTSE Russell frontier market status, and seen increased private capital inflows.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Taiwo Oyedele has emphasized that the platform is designed to make it easier for investors to move from identifying opportunities to assessing specific transactions and engaging directly with project sponsors. A dedicated deal room has been set up to facilitate these interactions.

Open for Business

Officials describe the launch as a clear signal that Nigeria is open for transformational investment. The government is positioning the country as a destination where capital can meet opportunity at scale, supported by ongoing economic reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Investors can explore the full portfolio, express interest, and access supporting materials through the dedicated Projects Nigeria portal.

This report is based on the official announcement by the Federal Ministry of Finance and related coverage of the Projects Nigeria launch at the 2026 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings.
