Soldiers Crush Terror Supply Lines, Shield Borno Communities
Damboa, Borno State — June 12, 2026 — In the unforgiving terrain of Nigeria’s North-East, where families have endured years of fear, loss, and shattered lives, soldiers are steadily restoring hope.
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI have delivered another blow to terrorist groups, foiling an infiltration attempt, disrupting deadly supply lines, and arresting key collaborators in swift, intelligence-driven operations.
On the morning of June 9, 2026, troops at the North East Theatre Training School in Buni Yadi spotted terrorists advancing toward their position.
Responding with coordinated precision, they neutralized the threat, recovered two terrorist corpses and one motorcycle, and prevented what could have been another nightmare for nearby communities already scarred by violence.
Dismantling the Support Web
Beyond direct combat, troops targeted the hidden networks that keep terror alive.
In Damboa, soldiers from 25 Brigade Garrison, supported by the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics suppliers, Mallam Bako Ibrahim and Abu Aji, along the Sierra 4 axis.
Separately, troops of 162 Amphibious Battalion, also working with the CJTF, detained Musa Idi along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari road.
Items recovered — 19 wristwatches, a large mat, a transistor radio, two cartons of agro-allied chemicals, and other materials — reveal how ordinary goods are twisted into tools of destruction. All suspects remain in custody for further investigation.
Later that day in Damboa town, troops arrested 23-year-old Adams Shittima while he attempted to buy farm implements and mosquito nets for terrorists.
During questioning, he reportedly confessed to supplying both logistics and intelligence to insurgents — a painful reminder of how local desperation can sometimes feed the cycle of violence.
Human Cost and Flickers of Hope
These operations come as sustained military pressure forces many fighters to abandon their criminal paths.
For displaced families longing to return home, farm their lands, and raise children without the constant shadow of fear, every neutralized threat and arrested facilitator represents a small but vital step toward normalcy.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their “professionalism, vigilance, resilience, and unwavering commitment.”
Lieutenant Colonel Haruna M. Sani, Acting Media Information Officer for Operation HADIN KAI, stated that the successes “underscore the resolve… to dismantle terrorist support structures, deny insurgents freedom of action, protect law-abiding citizens, and create conditions conducive to lasting peace, security, and socio-economic recovery across the North-East.”
While the road to full peace remains long and difficult, operations like these offer tangible relief to communities that have suffered too much for too long.
Each victory chips away at the terror that has defined Borno for over a decade, bringing families one step closer to safety and dignity.
