Lagos, Nigeria—September 6, 2026—Nollywood actress, screenwriter, and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has firmly dismissed circulating reports of her death, assuring fans she is alive, healthy, and safe.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Sunday, the mother of two addressed the false claims head-on after waking up to find multiple accounts spreading the rumour.
“Please note that I am alive. I did not have any accident, and I am safe,” Kadiri said. She revealed that about seven to eight accounts had been created specifically to push the false narrative.
Visibly frustrated, the actress pleaded with her followers and the general public to report the pages rather than engage with or try to debunk the posts.
“I AM ALIVE!!! Please help me report. Please, I’m begging you, help me report it,” she said. “I’m really sad at the extent some people will go on this social media space to hurt and wish death on another person. I stay on my lane. Leave me alone. I beg you all. It’s really becoming tiring and sad.”

The incident highlights a recurring problem in Nigerian social media, where unverified death reports about public figures frequently go viral, causing unnecessary distress to families and fans.
