Wike Fears Obi and Atiku Will Hunt Him If Tinubu Loses 2027 Election
Abuja/Port Harcourt—September 2, 2026—Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has openly acknowledged the personal political danger he faces if President Bola Tinubu fails to win re-election in 2027, warning that opposition figures Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar would come after him first.
Speaking during a media parley on Wednesday, the former Rivers State governor and still-PDP member left little room for ambiguity about the stakes of his high-profile support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) president.
“I will be the first politician that I think they will come after. I will be the first politician. I know they will come for my head,” Wike stated.

“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the President’s reelection. When I am eating, I think about the President’s reelection. Everything I am doing now is about the President’s reelection,” he added.

He maintained that the vilification does not deter him and that he has no regrets about the path he has chosen.
