Isaac Fayose Blasts APC Campaign Team as Gang of Alleged Looters Ahead of 2027

Businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has launched a fierce public attack on the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Committee, accusing the ruling party of packing its 2027 re-election structure with individuals previously linked to financial crime allegations and EFCC investigations.

In a strongly worded video that circulated widely on social media on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Fayose argued that several names on the newly unveiled campaign team have unresolved questions about their past dealings.

He urged Nigerians to reject what he described as a “gang of looters” at the 2027 polls.

“When you look at the APC Presidential Campaign Committee, you will see that several names there have been accused by the EFCC of financial crimes.

These are the same people coming to you to ask for your votes,” Fayose stated.

He further declared that the APC “does not mean well for this country” and that Nigeria would be “in trouble” if the party retains power.

Campaign Council Unveiled Amid Scrutiny

The APC released the full list of its Presidential Campaign Council on Saturday, August 22, 2026, as the party ramps up preparations for the 2027 general elections.

President Bola Tinubu serves as Chairman, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as Vice Chairmen.

Former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdulaziz Yari was named Director-General. Other senior positions went to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Edo Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma (Secretary).

The council includes a large body of party leaders, governors, lawmakers, and stakeholders.

Critics, including Fayose, have zeroed in on the public records of some appointees. Yari has previously been linked to investigations over alleged financial irregularities during his time as governor.

Akpabio has faced allegations and probes relating to his tenure as Akwa Ibom State governor, though he has consistently denied wrongdoing.

Other members have also drawn past EFCC attention through petitions, questioning, or investigations into financial misconduct.

Fayose’s intervention taps into a broader debate about accountability and the character of those seeking public office.
