**Ado-Ekiti, August 17, 2026—**Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has struck a reflective yet forward-looking note, declaring that his administration has laid solid foundations across key sectors and now urging citizens to take personal ownership in building the Ekiti they desire.
In a series of posts on X on Monday evening, the governor wrote: “We have built the foundation. Now, let us build ourselves, and together, build the Ekiti we want and deserve.”
The message was accompanied by a detailed graphic on healthcare infrastructure achievements under his administration.
Healthcare as a Clear Foundation Stone
The accompanying visual outlined major progress in the health sector.
Key completed and ongoing projects include the construction or renovation of 106 primary healthcare centres and general hospitals across the state, alongside the provision of free medical services directly to communities.
Short-term benefits listed for citizens include immediate free medical consultations, maternal care, and general treatment.
Long-term strategic gains pointed to a drastic reduction in neonatal and infant mortality and improved productive capacity of the state’s workforce.
The graphic also highlighted opportunities for health workers and the elderly through better access to advanced diagnostic equipment and proximity-based care.
These claims align with earlier reports of the revitalization of over 100 primary health centers, the renovation of nine general hospitals, upgrades at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), and the expansion of the Ulerawa Health Insurance Scheme that has enabled hundreds of thousands of residents to access free or subsidized care.
A Broader Call for Citizen Participation
Oyebanji’s message formed part of a short thread emphasizing personal responsibility.
He stressed that Ekiti has never lacked intellect or talent, and the task now is to convert that human capital into productivity, enterprise, and shared prosperity.
He urged residents to acquire digital skills, develop crafts, join farming clusters, build businesses, and keep learning while the government continues creating the enabling environment.
