Nine foreign nationals believed to be from Chad and Sudan have been arrested by the police following a security operation in Igbopa Community after authorities received intelligence reports about their presence in the area.

The arrests were carried out on June 7 after security operatives reportedly acted on information suggesting that a group of suspicious individuals had taken refuge in a residential building within the community.

Those arrested were identified as Abubakar Ishe, Abdulrazak Adamu, Adamu Adamu, Dasi Hamma, Oseni Sulagan, Michael Nabia, Abubakar Chuku, Ahmed Yusuf and Yusuf Saad, all aged between 21 and 30 years.

During a search of the building where the suspects were staying, police reportedly recovered 10 mobile phones, including Android devices and iPhones, several SIM cards, transaction-related documents, a copy of the Holy Qur’an and a number of charms.

Security officials said the recovered items are being examined as part of ongoing investigations aimed at determining the activities of the suspects and whether their presence in the community poses any security concerns.

The suspects are currently undergoing profiling while investigators work to establish their identities, movements and possible links to any criminal or security-related activities.
