In a charged gathering at the Ijero Local Government Area headquarters in Ekiti State on Thursday, key stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to seizing victory in the 2026 governorship election.

The meeting, brimming with determination and strategic resolve, underscored the party’s growing momentum amid widespread disillusionment with the ruling APC and the perceived collapse of the PDP in Ekiti.

Captain Olukunle Alufa, the LGA Campaign Chairman, set a resolute tone, urging party faithful not to relent but to build from strength to strength.

He called on candidates and aspirants to persevere, emphasizing that the party could no longer depend solely on state-level efforts.

With national and state dynamics favoring opposition forces, Alufa opened the floor for robust deliberations on concrete steps to bolster the campaign.

Hon. Alaba Agboola, Director-General of the Ambassador Dare Bejide Campaign Organization and an Ijero indigene, expressed profound gratitude to local leaders.

He painted a confident picture of ADC as a formidable, enduring force in Ekiti and nationally.

PDP is practically dead in Ekiti,” Agboola declared, stressing the urgent need for intensified preparation and unity to manage internal differences while capitalizing on successes in several LGAs.

The stakeholders outlined an aggressive grassroots blueprint: senatorial rallies scheduled for June 10-13 across district headquarters, full inauguration of LGA, Ward, and Polling Unit structures, house-to-house canvassing, and targeted mobilization in farmsteads.

Hon. Owolabi Olukunle, State Treasurer, echoed the call, assuring assured success if leaders mobilize diligently from the grassroots.

Ambassador Dare Bejide, the ADC governorship candidate and former Ambassador to Canada, has been actively receiving defectors from APC and PDP while pledging infrastructure, rural development, security, and economic empowerment—promises resonating deeply in a state grappling with hardship, unemployment, and insecurity.

This Ijero meeting reflects ADC’s broader strategy of deep community penetration, positioning the party as a credible alternative poised to capitalize on public frustration and deliver transformative governance.

As campaigns intensify, the message from Ijero is clear: victory will be earned through relentless, unified action at the roots.
